I must (sadly) admit I’ve never really been good at self care or doing things for my self. I’m most happy when I make other people happy and bring smiles all around me. But to do so we all need to take care of one self and love one self too… so … when I first met my wonderful, beautiful soon to become daughter in law, and she arranged the most delightful, fun, caring, pampering home-spa-wellness day for me and the girls I realised how important and fun and good it really is to just take some time to embrace one self and make some little luxury and self care.
It doesn’t need to take much time or being expensive, it just needs to feel good and relaxing and recharging.
So inspired by the sweetest Camilla, Eirun and I created our own super-face-mask and had a little girl time.
And I tell you what: we had so much fun!
And by making our own face mask we didn’t have to worry about if the mask contained any toxic “mumbo jumbo”. This mask is 100% natural and clean.
The avocado gives plenty of moisture and fat to the skin. The Yoghurt makes the skin feel fresh, rose Essential oil is super pampering and helps renewing skin cells. The same goes for lavender essential oil, which is also relaxing. (If you add 1tbs aloe Vera gel you’ll even get more moisture)
DIY avocado-rose face mask
1/2 ripe avocado
1 tablespoon Turkish yoghurt
5 drops young Living rose Essential oil
8 drops lavender essential oil
(1tbs aloe vera gel – optional)
Peel the avocado and cut and mash the avocado fruit.
Add yoghurt, essential oils and aloe Vera gel and mix well. (We used a blender to make it smooth)
Rinse the skin well. Add the mask using your fingertips or a brush. Add a good layer of mask to your face.
This recipe should be enough for two people to use.
We even took it on our hands and under the feet to soften the skin.
Let the mask sit on the skin for about 20 minutes
Rinse well with water.
This mask leaves your skin feeling soft and fresh.
