Homemade Pumpkin pie spice mix

October 30, 2019 by admin 1 Comment

30th of October. today is The Day before Halloween and I’m sharing my homemade pumpkin pie spice recipe just in time for the day when most Norwegians set up their “scary pumpkins” lanterns for the Halloween night. That said we don’t have a huge tradition on using the pumpkins around here and a lot of people don’t even know the delicious pumpkins are edible. Most of us have however been introduced to pumpkin spice trough pumpkin spice latte at the coffee shop. The most delicious coffee drink of the season if you ask me. Truly- when the fall is on I never get tired of those warm, tasty spices.

I’ll be sharing a recipe or two tomorrow on some delicious ways to use the pumpkin – until then I hope you’ll enjoy my homemade pumpkin pie spice recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • 2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon all spice powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground clove
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg powder

Instructions

  • To make pumpkin pie spice blend, simply add all the spice powders to a bowl whisk together until well combined.
  • Store the spice blend in air tight glass jars in cool dry place.

HOW TO USE PUMPKIN PIE SPICE

So now you got a small jar of your own version of pumpkin pie spice, what’s next?

How to you use it?

Have you experienced the pumpkin mania on the internet yet? I have, totally. So many delicious pumpkin recipes and many of it calls for pumpkin pie spice.

I would be sharing one or two pumpkin recipes using pumpkin pie spice in it tomorrow. Until then here are some ideas on how to use pumpkin pie spices –

  • pumpkin pies
  • pumpkin cheesecakes
  • pumpkin latte !!
  • pumpkin cakes
  • Pumpkin muffins
  • Cinnamon rolls
  • Pumpkin dip
  • Granola
  • Overnight oats
  • In roasted squash and potatoes

Now, hope you feel inspired to make your own, homemade pumpkin pie spice. It’s sooo delicious and tasty and you can use it for about anything this season.

Enjoy!
