DIY musclerub for sore muscles

🇬🇧🇳🇴This homemade muscle rub is surprisingly simple and so, so helpful when it comes to pain and inflammation. It’s loaded with essential oils like ravintsara, peppermint and cinnamon to give it that warm-cool sensation that’s so good for muscles. Plus it’s got a creamy consistency that swipes on easily and sinks in quickly. Just a dab or two applied directly to hot spots can have you back up and running in no time.

🇳🇴denne hjemmelagde muskelsalven er utrolig enkel å lage og veldig effektiv mot smerte og betennelse. Den består av gode eteriske oljer som ravintsara (kamfer), peppermynte og kanel som gir kremen en varmende-avkjølende effekt. Den har kremet konsistens som lett trekker inn og lar de eteriske oljene virke. Et strøk med muskelsalven rett på de vonde flekkene kan gjøre underverker.

Ravintsara

🇬🇧Ravintsara is used topically to increase local blood flow and reduce inflammation. It’s considered a “counterirritant,” which means that it can help reduce pain and swelling by causing irritation.

Peppermint

🇬🇧Like ravintsara, peppermint is also considered a “counterirritant”. It works by causing the skin to feel cool which helps distract you from muscle, joint and tendon pain.

Cinnamon / kanel

DIY Warming Muscle Rub with Essential Oils

🇬🇧Combine everything together To use, simply apply a pea-sized amount to the painful area and massage into the skin for instant relief. I suggest you use it over and over again several times. While it’s made for tired muscles, go ahead and use it for treating headaches, colds and sinus pain as well.

🇳🇴bland alle ingrediensene godt sammen. For å bruke salven gnir og masserer du en ertestor salvemengde utover huden der smerten befinner seg. Dette gir raskt en lindrende effekt. Jeg foreslår at du bruker salven med jevne mellomrom for best effekt. Kremen er lagd for muskelsmerter men bruk den gjerne mot hodepine og forkjølelse og bihulebetennelse også.

Muscle Rub

🇬🇧🇳🇴Ingredients / ingredienser

  • 25 ml olive oil / olivenolje
  • 100 ml shea butter / sheasmør
  • 2 tablespoons beeswax pellets / 2 ss bivokspellets
  • 10 drops raventsara essential oil
  • 10 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 10 drops cinnamon/ kanel essential oil
  • 5 drops clove/ nellik essential oil
  • 10 drops wintergreen

🇬🇧🇳🇴Instructions

  1. Melt the olive oil, shea butter and beeswax pellets/ smelt olivenolje, sheasmør og bivoks
  2. Once completely melted, let it sit for few minutes to cool slightly (not harden) . Then add the essential oils and stir to combine./ med en gang alle oljene har smeltet helt rører du godt rundt og lar de avkjøles litt (ikke stivne) , ha i de eteriske oljene og bland godt.
  3. Pour the mixture into a lidded jar and let harden in the refrigerator for 20 minutes./ hell blandingen i glass med tette lokk og avkjøl i kjøleskapet i 20 minutter.
  4. Massage a small amount of muscle rub onto the affected area to get relief./ masser inn en ertestor mengde krem til området som behøver det for lindring.
  5. Store in a cool, dry place for up to a year. / oppbevar kremen på et kalt og tørt sted. Kremen kan være holdbar inntil ett år.
